TeenTix is a local non profit designed to excite people aged 13-19 about the arts.
Once the teenager in question registers for their Pass, they can use either their digital Pass, or a physical key fob they request, to take advantage of the program.
TeenTix provides a calendar and weekly newsletter of events that will accept the Pass, image above. Any event requiring a ticket purchase will provide the ticket for $5. The calendar also includes many events that are free.
ID is required for proof of age at the time of purchase. Many, but not all, events also allow the teenager in question to purchase an additional $5 ticket for a guest of any age. Most TeenTix tickets are cash only.
*Note: TeenTix is different from many discount ticket programs because they don't handle any sales transactions. All of that is handled at the participating box offices.
Like rush tickets, since TeenTix are purchased same day, it may be wise to check online, call ahead, or email the venue or organizer's box office, and review availability before heading to the venue. This will ensure you don't get turned away.
