The Fifth Avenue Theater
1308 5th Ave, Seattle, WA 98101 (Downtown Seattle)
Volunteer Opportunities in their words:
Our volunteers primarily help us during shows scanning tickets or helping our guests find their seats. They help us in our Producer’s Club (a lounge below the theater) checking in guests and letting our guests know when the show is about to start. Beyond that, every so often we will have volunteers help at our Education events at the library or other venues. And once a year we have our Gala Fundraiser and will have volunteers help with various tasks from set up to recording paddle numbers during the live auctions.
More details, including a description of ushering responsibilities, can be found at the link: Volunteer at 5th Avenue Theater
How to start:
In order to start volunteering, please email your request to volunteer@5thavenue.org. No background check is involved. You will then be added to the volunteer wait-list, and potentially invited to the next Zoom orientation, usually at the beginning of the season in the late summer or early fall. There is no annual fee involved. The dress code when volunteering at shows is a white top and black pants.
Benefits:
The main benefit of volunteering is free entry to the show you are working. Each performance, there is a bank of seats reserved for volunteers, to which they are released a few minutes before the curtain goes up. Volunteers can also buy up to 4 tickets per show at a reduced rate of $30 per ticket.
