Seattle Trans and Non-Binary Choir Ensemble (STANCE) is a community choir created specifically for trans and non-binary participants, to encourage freedom across higher and lower vocal ranges, without the hindrance of traditionally gendered vocal role expectations.  STANCE is the first and only chorus to be led both by and for trans and nonbinary singers.

By building a community of trans and nonbinary singers, we aim to foster an environment where changing voices are authentically embraced. Our vision is an inclusive and accessible singing community where intersecting identities are centered at all levels of the organization. Through our music, both singers and audiences are encouraged to find embodiment and connect to our full selves, physical and emotional.

Financially Accessible Performances

STANCE is committed to performances that are accessible, both in terms of disabilities and finances.  Both tickets and participant dues have a sliding scale, which always includes a free option.  Anyone can attend their performances, and they frequently have outside performances sponsored by community partners.

Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are very helpful in doing ticket sales, ushering, AV, serving on our Board, writing grants, serving as stage managers, and a wide variety of other tasks to support their chorus.
