"Major," Ogemdi Ude, On The Boards, Belltown

MAJOR is a dance theater project exploring the physicality, history, sociopolitics, and interiority of majorette dance, a form that originated in the American South within Historically Black Colleges and Universities in the 1960s. These Black femme teams, accompanied by marching bands, created a movement style that requires master showmanship with allegiance to count, undulation, groove, and sensual yet strong performativity.

"Pay What You Can" tickets available for all showtime starting at $1.  Click here for tickets, showtimes, and more info.

"The Wild Party," Sound Theatre Company, Center Theatre, Uptown

We are thrilled to kick off our 20th Anniversary Season with a show that holds a special place in our history. After more than a decade, we’re bringing back our electrifying 2013 hit: Andrew Lippa’s The Wild Party—this time in an intimate, two-week concert-style run featuring an entirely new cast bringing fresh energy and bold new interpretations to this beloved work.

Directed by Corey McDaniel and Music Directed by Nathan Young, this darkly brilliant musical is inspired by Joseph Moncure March’s once-banned Jazz Age poem—an intoxicating tale of excess, desire, and the unraveling edges of pleasure.

Set in the Manhattan apartment of vaudeville performers Queenie and Burrs, a group of burlesque artists gathers for one unforgettable night. When a mysterious newcomer enters the mix, the couple’s already-fractured relationship is pushed to the brink, sending the party spinning into a glittering, dangerous spiral of temptation and thrill-seeking.

Inclusion Rate tickets available for $6 for all showtimes.  Click here for tickets, showtimes, and more info.
