"Lucky Chance," Island Shakespeare Festival, 5476 Maxwelton Road, Langley, WA 98260, Whidbey Island
From Expand the Canon: "If you’re looking to gamble on love with this multi-generational comedy featuring headstrong heroines and aging Romeos… consider this raunchy Restoration Comedy about sex, marriage, and consent. The ripened, spry, and sometimes lecherous Sir Cautious Fulbank and Sir Feeble Fainwou’d used their money and status to land young wives. But both wives had young suitors they already loved… who are trying to win them back! While the old men gamble, bribe, and swindle, the young suitors assume double identities, dance with a Devil(!), and put their livelihoods on the line –– with plenty of help from their crafty ladies. Delight in this unapologetic critique of capitalism and patriarchy while asking: are our motives in love and partnership ever truly altruistic?"
Tickets available in advance on sliding scale, starting at $15, or Pay What You Will after the show. 40% of tickets are held to be available day of the performance.

"Vietgone," Pork-Filled Productions, Theater Off Jackson, International District
It's 1975 and two young survivors (who may or may not be the playwright's parents) meet in a Vietnamese refugee camp in Arkansas shortly after the fall of Saigon. Will this strange new land of burritos, hippies and pot allow them to fall in love? Qui Nguyen (Raya and the Last Dragon, She Kills Monsters) irreverently flips stereotypes on their head, remixes history and pop culture and cooks up a sexy, funny and energetic romp that may be his own secret origin story.
All tickets available online with a $10 "Access" rate https://pork-filled.ticketleap.com/vietgone/
"Through the Windons & Into the Cabin," The Shattered Glass Project, MLK FAME Center
Through the Windows (&Into the Cabin) features two short plays by Carolynne Wilcox and Miriam Tobin that bring together themes of family and the end of the world.
Summer at the Window in the Cabin by the Lake in the Woods by Miriam Tobin
Further Unexpected Events by Carolynne Wilcox
There are only three performances of these wacky experiments with space, time, family history, and a bunch of windows! The audience sits outside and we perform in the liminal spaces between inside, outside and the window sill. This annual site-specific event (it’s annual after two years, right?) gives us a chance to share our space with you and to challenge some of our favorite playwrights to write new theatre pieces on a specific theme. Come to any performance and be welcome to the closing night reception and Friendraiser on the evening of Sunday, August 25th!
Tickets are PWYC, though all suggested amounts are under $6. Click the link for tickets and showtimes

Cowboys with Questions follows an isolated community that is led by George, a charismatic leader with an uncanny ability to skirt death. Their day-to-day activities and secret rituals are disrupted by the arrival of a cowboy.
Inspired by Euripedes’ The Bacchae and modern-day cults, this play is a thought-provoking exploration of human behavior, inviting audiences to question their own desires for community and the boundaries they are willing to cross in its pursuit.
