"The Park," Seattle Public Theatre, Greenlake

Bev and Libby meet on the same park bench, under the same tree, sharing sandwiches, dreams and memories for the entirety of their lives. Or maybe a century. Or maybe an eternity. Generations of strangers, families, dogs and ghosts share the same space, their lives passing and intersecting as each struggles to make sense of how to be in and of our troubled and beautiful world. The Park explores what we share in being human and how we must move forward even in uncertainty.

“Art is for Everyone” tickets are available online for $10.  Limited to 12 seats per performance. Click here for showtimes, tickets, and more info.

"The Pomegranate Tree," Dacha TheatreTheatre Off Jackson, International District

Theatre Off Jackson has been transformed into the Underworld itself for the union of Persephone and Hades, and you are invited! The Pomegranate Tree extends this honor to you mortals, who are usually forbidden in such divine spaces — but the myths you’ve read about these immortal beings have been mere whispers of the truth you’ll encounter. These gods, in all their conflict and longing, are more like you than you may think… and they’re in desperate need of your wisdom. Can you help them navigate love, death, and perhaps the hardest challenge of all: family?

This is a devised theater piece disguised as a party, which invites you to dress up, enjoy libations, dance, and help craft the narrative anew each night. Our colorful cast of deities, some familiar, some strange, will transport you to an ethereal plane where your presence will make all the difference — whether you choose to engage with them directly, or observe them from afar.

Pay what you can tickets available starting at $1.   Click here for tickets and showtimes.

"Love's Labor's Lost," Seattle Shakespeare Company, Center Theater at Seattle Armory, Seattle Center

In pursuit of everlasting fame, would you give up sleep, food, and the company of women?

The King and his buddies, to secure their legacies, vow to do just that. They proclaim new court rules and sign an oath – only to discover that the Princess of France and her ladies are about to arrive on official state business. A serious pursuit is turned upside-down as the men scramble to keep their promises and not fall in love.

This battle of Wits versus Heart may play like a game, but you will soon see that the consequences are real.

The first Wednesday preview is Pay-What-You-Wish, with tickets available same day, starting at Noon online or at 1:00 PM at the box office (either in person or over the phone).  You can also enroll for free in their “Groundlings” program, which allows you 2 $10 rush tickets up to an hour before the start of the show. As with all rush programs, we recommend you check availability online before heading to the theater. Click here for tickets and more info.

"Two Divergent Tales," Jose Amador, 18th and Union, Central District

EL HIJO PRODIGO tells the story of a man's return to his native Puerto Rico after an absence of 22 years. He is soon reunited with and beguiled by the history and culture of the island state he once called home. This five-day headlong rush into his ancestral community culminates with the chance for him to face his life, home, and family and see them for what

they really are. A journey through the island's music, mores, legends, people, and traditions, EL HIJO PRODIGO brings to life the joys and sorrows of a Commonwealth barely 1100 miles from our shores.

And...

AGUE (A Body Horror)

What with one thing and another, our protagonist finds himself in a dilemma: he’s dealing with dire medical symptoms of an unknown nature, but he has no health insurance. He’s unsure what to do since the last vestiges of socialized healthcare were recently eliminated. His body deteriorating quickly, he turns to his only option, the much-heralded privately run healthcare system. Hilarity ensues.

And if you crave more, there are two showings with Lyam White's AMERICAN WULVER!

AMERICAN WULVER

Claiming to be the descendant of a beast of Shetland legend, a wolf-headed faerie called the Wulver, Fenton Talbot tells the story of the wolf in him, drawing him away from civilization... and, frustratingly, back to it. In this solo show, his calculated confession (or psychotic break) is a seriocomic fantasia of academic and romantic failure, mythology, the ever-present tension between nature and civilization, revolt and communion, the self and the pack.

Join us for two weekends of epic storytelling!

"Men on Boats," IND Theatre, Rolling Bay Hall, Bainbridge Island

A rollicking adventure that challenges traditional gender and cultural assumptions. With a gender-bent cast portraying the male explorers of John Wesley Powell’s 1869 expedition down the Colorado River, the play offers a fresh perspective on the American West and the nature of adventure itself. Whereas these historical figures were historically cisgender white males, the cast is made up entirely of people who are not. With humor, heart, and a thrilling narrative, “Men on Boats” uses unconventional storytelling to create thought-provoking and insightful lens on exploration and leadership.

Admission is free, though donations are encouraged. Click here for reservations and more info.
